German Chocolate Pie

One of my main pregnancy cravings this time around has definitely been German food. Go figure?!?!? I recently indulged this little one with a homemade German Chocolate Pie.

This is a decent recipe for German Chocolate Pie, very close to the one they used to (and maybe still do???) serve at the German Restaurant I worked at while I was in high school.

The german chocolate pie recipe is written out below, but here are the steps:

1. Make a pie crust.

2. Melt together some chocolate and butter. take it off the stove
and add a can of evaporated milk.

3. Add sugar flour, salt, cornstarch, eggs and vanilla and pour into pie shell.

4. Top with a bunch o' coconut and pecans

5. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes. Until set.

Recipe:

1 unbaked pie crust

1/2 bag dark chocolate chips
1/4 C butter
1 can evaporsated milk
1.5 C sugar
2 TBS cornstarch
1 TBS flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 Cups (ish) coconut flakes
1.5 cup (ish) chopped pecans

Bake at 375 for 30-45 min.

Some people like this hot (wierdos) because its best served cold or room temp with coffee or ice cream (the better choice)
