Christmas Tree Pickup 2016

We went to the tree farm yesterday and picked out a tree. JUST KIDDING: there's no tree farm on Molokai. Some people cut down a tree from nature but seeing as how most of them are in parks or private land you're technically not supposed to without permission. I was surprised to find that a lot of people actually have fake trees, but I suppose its a good option, its a one time investment. The third option is King's Chapel church brings in trees from the mainland and sells them as a fundraiser. That's the route we've taken since moving here.

Yesterday was tree pickup day. It went a little something like this:
There's a big crowded auditorium in the church where they have all the trees with air conditioning.

A church volunteer leads you to the area of trees that corresponds to what you preordered last month. In our case, we got to choose from these four trees.

Then you choose which one you want

Then they carry it outside for you and trim off the bottom of the stump. Then carry it to your truck for you.

Not nearly the experience that I had as a kid growing up, but still fun. Now today I have to take a damn final-ugggggghghhhhhhhh-when will schooling ever end?!?!?!?!?

And after that I'm FREE to decorate! I can't wait!
