Saltine Cracker Toffee

We had a bunch of saltine crackers in the freezer, more than our family could ever possibly eat, so I decided to see what everyone was raving about and try my hand at some Saltine Cracker toffee, or as Sophia has named it "Chocolate Honey Brittle" That kid loves Bearenstein Bears and Giada...

This was super easy to make, and pretty good, although in no way is it possibly good for you! Hahaha. I good holiday treat though. Great to make and share.

Recipe:
Around 60 saltines
1 1/2 cups butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 bag chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 425.
Line a half sheet pan with aluminum foil and/ or a silicone mat.
Place crackers in one neat layer on sheet.
Melt butter and sugar in a medium pot over medium high heat. Boil for five minutes
Pour mixture over crackers and evenly distribute with the back of a spoon, then place in oven for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle on chocolate chips. If they don't melt right away, place pan back in oven for 30 seconds to one more minute.
Spread chocolate with a spoon to cover evenly.
Place in fridge to cool/ harden.
When set, flip over to remove from pan and break into bite size pieces (this is easiest to do chocolate side down)

line your baking sheet- add crackers
