Homemade Tortillas!

These tortillas are easy and delicious!

You just add the flour, salt and Crisco in your mixer and mix until clumpy. With mixer on, slowly add in the water until it comes together. If you live in a really humid area you may need to add up to 1/4 cup more flour. The dough should look like this.

Knead it a couple of times, then divide it into 10 equal parts. Roll it out with a tiny bit of flour on a silicone mat on top of a cutting board. It’s ok if it kind of sticks to the mat.

Flip the mat over (dough should stick) and then peel it off the tortilla.

Pick up the tortilla and drop it into a DRY pan heated to medium high (number 6 on our junky old electric stove) cook until it puffs up, then flip it and cook the other side until it puffs and lightly browns.

Keep them in a folded over dish towel while you cook the rest.

Serve however you want, tacos, burritos, fajitas, or just plain rolled up with butter. Maybe make a double batch if you’re like us and your husband and kids eat them all before you can make it to the dinner table! 😂
