Happenings on the hobby farm/backyard this month are as follows
The front of our house has as little curb appeal as ever. My plumeria is finally doing good, but I feel like I need some tall Manila palms in front, but I don’t want to plant any until construction is done.
I put this line of bricks over here, but the kids keep destroying it...
I’ve got some roses going in the front, but we had an attack of grasshoppers and rose beetles??? Something ate all the leaves. They’re coming back though. And the lemon and lime are doing ok, despite how hot and dry this summer has been.
Sophia’s kukui tree is finally taking off!
And the jackfruit is doing well too! No fruit yet though, even though it’s 5 years old.
We made a new chicken pen and the tangerine tree is finally loaded with tangerines.
This side of the house looks about the same as always. Just image a pool over here someday.
But for now, this is our pool.😂
We put in a new garden bed, and are going to replace the other two with three more short ones, filled with only good soil!
The fish pond is almost complete! There are a bunch of guppies in there!
These roses also suffered insect attack.
I took the fancy roses out of here, moved them to the front, and put the yellow roses over here along with a few Pentas.
Back of the house- needs work as always.
Strawberry guava ready to pick.
The GD wild chickens keep eating all my watermelon before the get much bigger than this...not sure what to do to keep the off! Suggestions welcome! I’m thinking old onion bags???

Tried some peach seeds, damn ants ate them all!!! Going to try again!
Started some watermelon papaya- two sprouted so far.
Just transplanted a rose today..

Sweet corn

Peppers
Herbs of all sorts

Daniel just cut the panax under the power lines again. I had all those agapanthus and iris things under them, but the damn deer ate a lot of them. The ones that are left are doing ok though.
