Cabbage Rolls

I’ve been trying a lot of new recipes lately. This one was mainly to use up a head of cabbage I had from our vegetable box. It was pretty good, pretty healthy, and relatively easy

In a small pot heat on medium until rice is soft and water is gone
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup rice

In a pan sautee
1 small diced onion
4TBS butter

In bowl combine:
1lb. Ground turkey
1 egg
Salt
Pepper
Paprika
Parsley
Garlic powder
Dill
-cooled rice
-cooled onion

In a pan layer:
1 can tomato sauce

Remove largest cabbage leaves
Cut midrib out of cabbage leaves.
Tiny leftovers can dice up.

Spray a backing dish or Dutch oven with Pam.
Add a layer of tomato sauce.
Roll the meat mixture into the leaves and place in pan.
Later with more tomato sauce
Add water to keep everything moist.

Cover and bake at 350F for 1-1.5 hours.
Baste rolls as necessary to keep them from drying out.
