Better than anything cake

Last week we made a better than anything cake from Pinterest.

I "healthed" it up a bit and used less caramel sauce, lite cool whip and Heath bits instead of full bars-which may not crisply be healthier at all.

Anyway. All you do is bake a chocolate cake from a mix. Let it cool for 5 min Then poke it full of holes.

Dump on a whole CAN of sweetened condensed milk and some caramel ice cream sauce

Let it cool for 10 more min. Then top with cool whip and Heath bits

The verdict.....ok.

Super sweet and not at all worth the $20 in ingredients or 500000billion calories :(

Pinterest fail.

At least I had an adorable little helper to clean up after me :)

Cake mix peach cobbler

Modified from a Pinterest recipe to be healthier and way easier to prepare.

3 big cans of peaches in juice or light syrup if possible. Ours was 1 light 2 heavy, bc friendly market is on a mission to make everyone fat and they only rarely sell fruit that's not in heavy syrup.
1 box yellow cake mix
1/3 cup butter

Drain peach juice into a separate bowl. Pour peaches into a 9x13 pan:

Pour cake mix evenly on top. Cut tiny pats of butter and sprinkle on top:

Pour 1 can's worth of peach juice on top. No more or it will be runny and gross!!! Use remaining peach juice for something else like sangria :)

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until golden brown.

No picture of the finished product because Sophia and I ate it all in 2 days. Some people claim this is a "healthy" "weight watchers" recipe, but it does have a cake mix, so...

Either way, it's healthier than the "better than anything cake"

Baby number two, finishing up 38 weeks

Almost 39 weeks! Happy for the holiday weekend!!! But still a million things I do before this little man gets here!

Belly pic

It's funny how with your first baby you think, oh, I should be safe an not eat fish or sushi or lunch meat...and then with the second, hello, over a year expired jar of hot fudge I found under the counter, don't mind if I do!

IZzy enjoyed it too

Literal 13 hour day at work yesterday.

About done with this Jessica Simpson pregnancy. I may have gotten really fat, but at least I've been able to surround myself with beautiful things

Mommy and me

The ladies say Sophia knows that something is up and there will be big changes coming her way soon...when her baby brother arrives.

I don't know about that, but she has been extra clingy and lovey towards me lately. And I'm loving every minute of it!

Danny was on Lanai some of last week, so we went to Tutu and Me

Drew with chalk

Bought ourselves flowers and attempted to plant the stems :/

We got a new ultrasound and Sophia made a bunny at Read to Me

I had a super shitty day at work, mostly due to school.

So we got some ice cream

Saturday was an egg hunt at Lanikea. It was actually pretty competitive! It makes you realize you can't protect your kids from everything :(

We came home, had a beautiful pool day, talked on the phone and painted some pictures.

Our last trip as a family of three!

Harbor at Lahaina

Fruit by the foot from some kids birthday piƱata

Kahului- shopping time!

38 weeks!!!

Heading back home

My poor swollen preggo feet, high winds, a crap ton of shopping spree baggage and a sea sick toddler and husband made for a pretty crappy boat ride home.  But regardless, getting off island always makes you happy to be home.

Nesting take 1

36 weeks Monday!! We are FULL TERM!!!!

I've been really wanting to nest and get stuff done, but I've been really hindered by my extreme heartburn and hip pain, and never ending pain in the ass masters class have been making it nearly impossible! Those things coupled with potty training a toddler who thinks it's perfectly acceptable to drop her pants and shishi/dodo anywhere... Well, not much has gotten done.

I am making decent progress on refinishing the play kitchen.

Soph and I got some flower seeds planted.

With some "help" from these two:

And the nursery got a little more decorated, but I think I need to redo the bunting with a lot more blue an green and a lot less pink. Only problem is there's no craft store on Molokai, so even if I order scrapbook paper it won't get here in time. I'm thinking of making a fabric bunting, but that seems like a labor intensive project I don't feel like taking on right now.

And the toy bins need to be replaced. I really want some raccoon ones from skip hop, but they're $30!!!!

Love the left over shower flowers and pretty happy with the way the rainbow mobile turned out.

I like the crib bedding, but now I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with navy instead of light blue. Too late now, and that's what happens when you have to order everything without being able to see it in person.

Still love Sophia's corner though. Girls are so much easier to decorate for!!!
