Pupus for Tutu

Yesterday was Sophia's Tutu and Me field trip to Keawanui Fish Pond. The fish pond was really cool, and Sophia had fun looking at the fish and touching the crabs and clams. It was a little more stressful for me, since Daniel couldn't go with us, and I never get to go, so I don't really know any of the other moms very well, and the day included some serious anti-GMO sentiment, and a slam poetry session that was mostly about Native Sovereignty... Not that there's anything wrong with that, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you really should know the facts, and I really felt like I didn't belong. I didn't take any pictures at the fishpond, but here are some from the bus:

Anyway, after that we had a nice potluck back at Kualapuu.

I made some delicious pupus as seen here:

These were really easy and yummy. Just cube up some cheese, and spear olives and salami with a toothpick.

And I made these Bacon Ham and Cheese cups also from Pinterest. They were soooo good. They don't look like it though; I need to work on my food photography skills :)

After that there was a Hawaii Life Flight event at the airport. Since Sophia has been a little in love with planes lately I took her on the "tour" of the air ambulance. It was neat, and they even let her sit in the Piolt's seat. The bad thing is when it was time to go she threw a kicking screaming fit because she wanted "to go on a BIG airplane to see Cowboy and Nana and the birds and the cows and the donkeys" Crazy kid.

Stitch Fix #3

Well, this one was not as disappointing as the last, but not as fun as the first. I still don't think it's really my style, but I guess I don't really have a great style anymore anyway; it's more of what fits my mom-body, what can i bear to wear to work all day, and what did I have the time and energy to shop for :(

So first up this week was a Market and Spruce Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee. It's a bright blue color and really more of a sweater weight, but I like it.

Next were some off white Sanctuary George Zipper Detail Skinny Jeans. They were all right, but waaaay too tight, and hello, they're white. I can't handle that with all our red dirt.

And the Gilli Dev Abstract Chevron Maxi Skirt. It was ok, but it reminded me of something that someone way older than 29 would be wearing, and for a very Ross-like maxi, it definitely didn't come at a Ross price point.

The Le Sample Kahlo Embroidered Racerback Tank. I like it! Also, how cute is this chubby little baby boy, and how freaking awesome is our lanai, even with its AstroTurf :)

and lastly, a C. Luce Rayna Abstract Print Snap Back Blouse. It's actually way nicer than the card made it appear, but the cut was somewhat unflattering.

All in all, I rate this one as ok. I might try it for one more month, just because I like getting new stuff, and I have no confidence since I'm not losing this baby weight very quickly, and I can't just go to a mall, and as much as I love 6pm, I get really sick of wasting my time browsing through hundreds of pages. So overall, StitchFix is still a really cool idea. Here's a promo code if anyone wants to try it:

Lately

My mom and dad left yesterday. Dropping people off at the airport really sucks. It always makes me question if we're doing the right thing for our kids. Growing up on Molokai is great, but growing up 4000 miles from your grandparents sucks.

Anyway, this week before they left we tried to get in some fun activities and beach time after work.

My dad snorkeling

Perfect evening for some hot dogs

Soph was mad because i wouldn't give her the camera

So I did, and she took this gem

We made s'mores and I didn't burn my face off...success!

meanwhile, back at work our parking lot is the freaking worst!!!! Look how close those mirrors are!!! It's a miracle I haven't hit anything yet!!!

Back on the home front my hibiscus look amazing

But sadly we had to drop Cowboy Grandpa and Marky Mommy off to catch their flight.

We miss them already!

Scenes from our Sunday

Getting ready for church entails watching cartoons, refusing to put on real clothes, and hoarding a bunch of mommy's necklaces. (Oh, and looking adorable)

There were beautiful flowers blooming in the church parking lot

And afterwords we headed to Cookhouse for the island's ONLY biscuits and gravy. (I think anyway)

Sophia displayed her excellent photography skills. Oh, to be two again...

The afternoon was spent kiddie pooling, working on the floor, gardening and making homemade pizza.

We've been getting so much done. Our house is looking so much better and I am eternally greatfull for all of my parents help, but I'm exhausted, and I haven't even even doing any of the work. I've just been gong to work at my job, and making milk which are both incredible energy drains in and of themselves. I really do look forward to the time when any of our parents can come visit us and jut have fun and not have any projects to take on... Someday...

Anna on the other hand, that's a different story. Lol.
